I found myself walking on an open grassy area at Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park in Miami. As I looked down into the grass, I noticed a couple of eyes staring at me. It was a Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia) perched on a blade of grass with its wings extended into the sun. I decided to stare back with my lens.
