I was visiting Taiwan and wanted to follow the Taiping Matzu pilgrimage that was being held in the county of Yunlin. As it turned out they were more than happy to have me along for the entire 15-day festival, and they gave me access to all parts of the event! This image of a lion dance, was shot on the opening day of the pilgrimage, with groups from around the county paying homage to the focal point of the festival, the goddess Matzu. I used a Canon EOS Rebel T5i at 1/60 sec. f/4.5 18mm ISO 3200.
