I've been volunteering with a research crew on Monterey Bay and dolphins have quickly become my favorite inhabitants of the bay. They rush to the boat to surf the bow wave. They leap, seemingly because they can. They are just fun to watch, and to photograph. I caught this one at the apex of his leap, but it's amazing how many frames I get that have nothing in them, or just a splash and a tail. They're very quick. All part of the fun.
