While dog-sitting my daughters Great Dane in Las Vegas, I noticed the desert sunsets are awesome. She has some palm trees in in back yard and as the sun was setting, I noticed some nice cloud formations that nicely silhouetted the palm trees. With a stroke of inspiration, I decided to use the on-camera flash to light the trees so just a bit of texture of the tree bark is visible.
