This photo of broken column sections was taken at Olympia, on the Peloponnese peninsula, Greece. Olympia was the site of an ancient sanctuary dedicated to Zeus and the site of the first Olympic games in 776 BC. The city was abandoned sometime after 600 AD and was not rediscovered and excavated until the early 1800s AD. My camera was a Nikon D70 with a Nikkor 18-70 mm lens at 29 mm. The exposure was f/11 and 1/160 sec (ISO 400).
