The squirrel's backlit tail really makes the shot, along with the sunstar and the lovely lighting on the columns of the Jefferson Memorial. I like how there's plenty of people in the scene to keep one's interest but at the same time there's enough negative space to make it clear that the squirrel is the subject. A high contrast black and white look really helps to highlight the beautiful texture in the stone as well. Shot with a Canon 6D and 24-105mm f4L lens set to 55mm and f22 (to create the sunstar). 1/320 shutter speed, ISO 1600.
