This photo (originally in color) was taken in Kapalua, Maui on 7-22-2016. From my vantage point, I could not actually see the approaching wave until it crashed into the rock cliffs. Upon realizing that the timing between each wave was fairly consistent, I began a "count down" following each crashing wave surge. The "timing" allowed me to take this photo of a crashing wave within the framing of large volcanic rocks. And yes, my camera and I got a little wet from the spray.
