It may look like a peacefully composed photo, but the behind the scenes story was that it was crazy windy-- enough that I had to bear down on my tripod to keep it from blowing over-- and rain was spitting on my lens faster and faster. Thankfully I was able to catch this long-exposure shot overlooking the city of Prescott, Arizona, to be able to capture carlights and a large lightning bolt from this fast-moving storm that spanned the sky to fill up all of my wide-angle lens, before having to pack it away. I have been told my storm photos look peaceful, and I think it is partly due to the fact that I don't heavily edit them where the clouds can start becoming over-processed and look more ominous than they really did in real life; I like the storm's natural beauty to show through.
