As I drove around Cades Cove 11 mile Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountains Nat'l Park, I noticed the photographer using his telephoto lens to focus on a barn across the Cove floor. He was isolating the barn from its vast surroundings. My intent was similar but different. I meant to isolate the photographer by including rather than eliminating the vast surrounding space of the Cove.
