This image was taken in the Upper Ice Lakes Basin near Silverton, Colorado. The wildflower display there was the most beautiful that I have ever seen. I arrived there about two hours before sunset so that I could scout out a location for sunset. I found the colors and texture of the foreground rocks to be very interesting. I went back to this location in time for sunset. This amazing sunset lasted at least 30 minutes. Here is the meta data for the shot:
