Housing & Urban Development Building through "Raindrops".
Nikon F3; approx 40mm (28-80 zoom); 20th@f.32. Steve Gottlieb
I saw this shot when passing by the HUD building in DC when it was raining. The light concrete form of the building with dark windows was apparent in every drop. Since I needed max depth of field to give a sense of the the building facade, I knew I could only do this on a sunny day. (on a rainy day, the shutter speed would be too slow.) I simply returned to the same spot when sun was on the building facade and used a spray bottle to create the drops. To get the right angle of the windshield vis-a-vis the building, I parked one wheel of my car on the sidewalk (it was Sunday and no one was around). To steady the camera, I splayed the legs of my tripod inside my car and held my breath.
As to whether the building shape echoes the raindrops or vice-versa I can't say.
