I took this shot of a white plastic model skull using a Nikon D600 camera and a 50mm prime lens stopped down to F11 and a shutter speed of 1/160. I underexposed for the ambient light and then used an SB700 speedlight (off camera) with a Rogue Flashbender to highlight the skull. I processed the image in Photoshop to make the skull look as if it were made of gold and added in the flames.
