While visiting my older son Nathan's family each winter, we'd walk to a neighborhood park where the trees overhead would catch my eye, the way the bare branches were stark against the sky, and the way the branching created a mosaic of negative and positive space. Last winter I asked Nathan's wife Kate if I could borrow her camera and made a sequence of exposures; this frame, with the help of Photoshop and Nik Efex Pro and Perfect Black and White, came closest to what I envisioned.
