In July 2008 the volcano on Hawaii's Big Island displayed a fantastic display at the Waikupanaha Ocean Entry that lasted for only a few days and luckily there was a reasonably close access view point. There were occasional waterspouts created by the turbulent rising steam plume. I shot this with a Nikon D200 with 70-200 mm f2.8 lens at 200mm on a Gitzo tripod at 1/15 sec at dusk to get streaks with the explosion. If this doesn't symbolize Hell, i don't what does.
