This event is not really aimed at visitors, though they are welcome. It is FOR the Hawaiian people. This ancient heiau, or stone alter was built by passing stones man to man for several miles on the west side of Hawaii island. Gifts are presented to the Ali'i or ruling class (and placed on the tower at left) and then there is a mock battle and Hawaiian hand crafts demonstration. The kings procession with kahili poles leads the exit up the ramp. It starts at sunrise in August.
