I was shooting off the east side of Island in the Sky and there was some gorgeous light. The Photographer's Ephemeris indicated that the sun would hit Green River Overlook from the side at sunset and I had visions of beautiful light dancing in my head. Unfortunately there was also a massive cloud over the west side, but I could see the horizon so I headed over there, thinking that the sun might break through just as it hit the horizon. Unfortunately it didn't, but it did light up the underside of the clouds on the distant horizon. The whole Green River canyon makes me think of a long ago prehistoric scene, so I zoomed in to emphasize the unusual formations and lines of the river. I've already got plans to go back in a few months. Can't stay away from this place!
