Grebes can be challenging (but fun) to photograph because as soon as they spot something out of the ordinary they will dive under the water and may not surface until they are over 100 feet away. This one dived when he saw me but came up near where he dived so I was able to get this picture. I also had my lens zoomed to 200mm so that I would have the widest angle of view possible with that lens so increase my chances of getting a photo. Camera settings were, continuous focus and shutter, 1/1000 sec., f/8, and 200mm focal length, ISO 400. Equipment included Nikon D750, Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 lens, Induro Stealth CLT403 tripod, Wimberly WH-200 gimbal head.
