At the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge in Ridgefield, Washington there is a 4.2 mile auto tour from which wildlife is observed and photographed. Taking photos from the car, therefore, requires the camera to be hand held and for the photographer to get in awkward positions to get the shot. Indeed, high ISOs and fast shutter speeds are the norm. To freeze the action here to get this great white egret in flight I used an ISO of 2000 and a shutter speed of 1/8000th second.
