I travel a lot and I love to visit historical places. My wife and kids love visiting these places as well. We especially love Colonial Williamsburg. The place is full of wonder and history, the rein-actors are some of the best we have ever came across as well. I took this late in the evening around 9 p.m., I wanted to capture a sunset behind the Governors Palace so I set up on what everyone calls the lawn. I waited for a while and shot a few frames, I wanted something interesting to happen. Finally I noticed some rein-actors leaving for the day, I had enough time to drop my f-stop down to 1.8 from 11 and adjust the timing for when they came by, this way they would be more in focus and I could still keep some detail in the buildings. It was getting pretty dark pretty quick. Once they made their way toward the middle I started shooting and for me, it was well worth the wait. The period dressed rein-actors added so much to this image.
