Reflection of Golden Gate Bridge in a puddle, San Francisco, CA.
When I arrive at a location I usually start by taking what are called "post card shots" - especially of iconic subjects such as the Golden Gate Bridge. Once those are out of the way, I then start looking for unique angles, perspectives, or viewpoints to show the subject in a different, and non traditional, way.
This day one of my stops was the Golden Gate Bridge in late December, not too long after a rain. As I roamed around I found this puddle and after a bit was able to position my camera to frame the shot so the reflection of the North Tower was in the puddle but also in such a way that the combination of the reflections of a street light pole and the safety fencing formed sort of a 2nd frame around the tower reflection. Then it was just a matter of waiting till the wind died down and there was a long enough gap in the pedestrian and bicycle traffic to allow the water surface to smooth out.
