Spring at the Zoo is always fun. I love watching the Gibbon pair as they swing overhead. Their outdoor habitat at Denver Zoo allows them free range above the guests along the trail. This Gibbon was quite content having a snack on the island in it's outdoor habitat on a clear sunny day. I was testing my husband's SONY A65 camera and it's 2x in-camera zoom. This is handheld shot, with a Sony 70-300mm lens using in-camera 2x teleconverter. Amazing sharpness, and I loved the very closeup shot. Needless to say, I took several shots while this Gibbon enjoyed it's snack. I normally shoot with Canon 70D & Canon 100-400mm lens, but I would have never had this sharp handheld shot. I've been debating, but alas I've always shot Canon for over 30 yrs now, and still use my Canon gear. I'm tempted, but not totally convinced. Love playing at the Zoo, testing different angles and different gear. I'm challenged by arthritic hands and fibromyalgia, so I've been testing other gear for lighter and less gear.
