These little night fliers are actually "gliders". They are approachable as long as you don't make any sudden moves. I noticed activity around my bird feeders after dark and could see them scurrying up and down the dogwood tree where the feeder hangs. I attached a flash unit to my camera and was able to get within 15 feet of this cute little guy.
