The Pintado Petrels were photographed from a ship near Elephant Island, Antarctica. The camera was a Nikon D7000 with a Nikkor 70-300 mm VR lens at 112 mm. The exposure was f/11 and 1/2000 sec (ISO 800). This is one of my few “birds-in-flight” photos where I had a vantage point above the birds. Image by Irwin H. Segel.
