A new twist of the classic Ferris wheel was attempted one night. Instead of setting the camera on a tripod in the carnival midway and shooting a rotating Ferris wheel in a timed exposure, I found a vantage point away from the carnival that had a body of water in the foreground. Fortunately, there was no wind and the water was calm. I took a long exposure by hand-holding the camera stationary for a fraction of a second to capture the round form of the wheel, then moving the camera to the left in an undulating motion to suggest a windblown movement. The Ferris wheel was in it's red illuminated mode in this image.
