Detail of a peacock's tail.
Peacocks roam freely at a Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Wood Valley, Hawaii Island (Big Island). Followed one trying to keep the lens focused while manually set at max focal length and minimum focus distance. The camera was kept parallel to the plane of the tail as much as possible and exposures were made whenever the peacock stopped momentarily. Focus adjustments were made by moving the camera - up and down in this case. This particular exposure was made under a tree in dappled sunlight.
