In making this photograph, I really wanted to capture Clair's essence. I wanted to tell her story as much as possible in a completely visual way. Far be it for me to tell others how to view and experience a photograph but for me this photograph demonstrates beauty, strength, energy, determination, resilience, focus, and poise.

Clair Crawford is one of the most motivational people I know. Through regularly raising money for veterans through her #22kill videos on social media, to her other videos with thoughts and inspirations, and her willingness to open herself up to others in showing and promoting both her growth and their own. That's what inspiration is. It's both introspection and self growth and having a giving attitude to others in promoting their own grow and aspirations!

I made this photo with my Canon 6D, Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC lens, and Alien Bee B800 with a 48"shoot through umbrella.
