I've always been reluctant to get out with my camera during the winter in Minnesota. This January I visited Minnehaha Falls, in an effort to embrace the winter as a photographic subject. I was discouraged by the lack of any pristine snow and by the sheer number of people taking foolish risks climbing down the closed staircase to take selfies by the frozen falls. So instead of the grand winter landscape I had envisioned, I started looking for small details and found this.
