Riding along on my Sportser with my camera straped to my side I see an Egret in a man made pond at a retirement center. I park the bike and walk slowly toward the Egret in hope something unusual would happen. I set my shutter speed 1/1000 to freeze any action, a minute later through the viewfinder I see the Egret turn to the right and squawk, not knowing what was happening until I watched it all unfold through the lens. Shooting at 6fps I captured the Osprey after he grabbed the fish from the pond and was heading straight toward the Egret.
The was set at ISO100 and I believe the aperture was f/5.6. The six frame series of photos are what makes photography so exciting, you have to be out there and anticipate and with a lot of luck you'll get to capture a wildlife scene shot in a residential complex.
My hope is to win this lens so when I get my full frame DSLR one day. I won't have to rely on cropping to see the subjects larger as I did in these two entries. Nikon D7000 1/1000s, f/5.6 ISO100.
