I found this little Pika above tree line on Trinchera Peak in southern Colorado on a late summer day. He was busily collecting a salad buffet in preparation for his long cold winter hibernation at 11,700 feet elevation. I saw that he was scurrying back and forth with his greens, so I sat down a good distance away and caught him on the run with my Canon EOS 6D MarkII and Sigma DG 150-500 I.S. zoomed all the way out to 500mm. f/8, 1/1000th sec, ISO 320.
