An early morning flight south from Seattle to Southern California took a route to the east of Mt. St. Helens affording a beautiful view of the shadow cast by the mountain on the surrounding terrain. The ejected material from the eruption is clearly visible to the right, along with Spirit Lake. Shot with Nikon D750 and Nikon 24-120 f/4 lens. Exposure was 1/500 at f/8, ISO200. Converted to B&W in Lightroom 5.
