Do Your Portraits Look Flat? Here’s How to Give Them Shine & Glamour in Photoshop
There’s a big difference between a good portrait and a great portrait. Part of taking your portrait photography to the next level is adding some depth and pop to your photos, so they don’t look flat.
There are ways to do that, of course, when you capture your portrait. But what if you’ve already shot it and it just looks blah? There’s always Photoshop but you’ve got to know what you’re doing.
Photo educator Unmesh Dinda of PiXimperfect knows what he’s doing and he’s here to share his portrait touch-up wisdom in the below video titled “Add Shine and Glamour to Your Portraits in Photoshop.”
"Discover the simplest ways to create dimension by adding shine and glamour to your portraits in Photoshop,” Dinda says. “Learn how to make your flat portraits have more depth and form, just by utilizing the fundamental concepts of Curves, Blend-If, and Masking. In this tutorial, learn how to use Blend-If to enhance the highlights and the shadows of the skin and hair, and use masks to locally adjust the values for specific areas.”
