Last summer on our Utah trip we were surprised by a fast moving storm tearing through the canyon. The first indication that the weather was going to turn was seeing waves of rain flying up over the canyon rim. As I struggled to make sense of what I was seeing the first drops of rain started to hit us. Fortunately there is a small shelter at the end of Dead Horse that kept us dry while the storm passed. As the system moved away, an amazing color and faint rainbow appeared. I think I took over 100 shots in less than 5 minutes. This one is one of my favs.
Canon 5DMIII, EM24-70 f2.8L II USM at 30nn. f11 for 1 second on a tripod. In Post I just made a few adjustments to shadows and highlights after moving to a cloudy WB...and clarity...lots of clarity and some dehaze.
