Creeping around in the high wet grasses while photographing wet bugs drying out from being covered with early morning dew near one of the ponds in the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge near Walden, Colorado, I caught this fly adorned with backlit drops of moisture looking like a creature from “the dark lagoon.” Nikon D200, Nikkor 55mm macro lens, ISO 400, bracketed exposure unrecorded.
