I went early in hopes to capture a nice sunrise. The sunsets and sunrises are often magical in the fall. I got there just as the sun rose and without having time to set up my gear, I chose to enjoy the sunrise for what it was...and it was amazing that morning.
As the sun rose, I was surprised to see everything light up the way it did. I was watching a couple of geese in the river, and the light was just right to capture them in the mist.
Missing the shot you came for isn't always a bad thing. I find myself surprised more often than not in what I walk away with.
