I must admit that I truly adore my alone time exploring but this incredible place was "Icing on the Cake". Trona Pinnacles is located near Ridgecrest in the Mojave Desert, CA. My dogs and I were the only ones there while I captured long exposures under the clear night sky. This isolated location is popular among filmmakers, particularly for science fiction movies including Star Trek. The glow you see in the distance is the small town of Trona.
