This Bristlecone stump was found while wondering the East Sierra. A ranger had mislead my group to an area said to be full of magnificent Bristlecone Pines. The area didn't have the stands of Bristlecones I anticipated. I shifted my thoughts towards looking for interesting deadfall. The area ended up being a good find once I open my eyes to other photographic possibilities. Shot with a Canon 5D MK III and a 24-105 lens at a 24mm focal length, f22. The camera was steadied with a Really Right Stuff Tripod. Post Processing was done with Photoshop CC 2015 and NIK software plugin. The background was enhanced to give the image a surreal effect.
