Elk Lake Lodge in the Adirondack Park is a privately owned nature reserve that is pristine and motorless. We have been there each year (mostly late September) for 24 years and running. This old and abandoned boathouse has been sinking steadily, but I think that this state of decay, in 2010, is the most interesting. This year it is clearly so far gone as to be far less picturesque.
