This image, taken in the Falkland Islands, was from the unusual perspective of eye level. The bird was nearing a landing in a rookery below, and I was behind and at higher altitude. Note the that the head is parallel to the earth while the body and wings are in a bank, indicative of orienting reflexes derived from the inner ear's vestibular system.
