When I installed a bird feeder in my back garden my intention was to feed birds, not feed birds to the local Cooper's Hawks. I rationalize this by telling myself the hawk also has to eat, and is a remarkably beautiful creature to see close up. I've also seen Cooper's Hawks in my back garden feasting on rats, and that I don't mind at all. The camera was a Canon 5D MkII with a 300mm f/4.0 lens. The settings were f/4.0 @ 1/50th, ISO 400.
