This American Avocet was not pleased whatsoever with my presents this morning while out taking pictures at a local wetlands area. I was able to capture this picture with my Nikon D5 using a Nikkor 300mm 2.8GII ED (N) lens combined with a Nikon AF-S 1.7X teleconverter. My setting were ISO 400 (auto IS0), 500mm (w/teleconverter), f/6.3 @ 1/2000 sec.
