An aloe vera blossom on display at Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor, Michigan, shot with a Sony Nex-7 and vintage Helios 44-2 58MM lens with adapter. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw, followed by two global color adjustment layers in Photoshop.

A very good friend of mine surprised me with this vintage Helios lens a few months prior to capturing this shot, and it has been one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received. I am thoroughly enjoying the artistic effects that result from using this lens on a myriad of subjects, and I now use it several times a week.
