I was ready to pack up my camera gear when I spotted this wonderful distant scene, cast in waning evening light at Grand View, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. While most of the expansive vista was awash in dark shadows, these deep canyon formations somehow remained aglow in magnificent warm light. It was an evening I will never forget.
Nikon D810, 1/8 sec, f/16, ISO 100, aperture priority, matrix metering; Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8 lens at 175 mm, with Nikon AF-S TC-20E III teleconverter, with Hoya Circular Polarizer; Gitzo tripod with Swiss Arca ball head.
