I saw this antique couch sitting in the yard of an abandoned house that I had passed many times while working. The couch was facing away from the street so I wondered why this beauty was sitting there like that and also was inspired to shoot something around it...
A few days passed and the couch was STILL THERE facing away from the street. I had a fellow friend, also a photographer, come with me to the abandoned property to investigate the couch further to see if it was any good for a possible photoshoot, and indeed it was damaged but still had a shabby-chic appeal to it and I decided to organize an impromptu shoot around it as I had to hurry before someone would come and take this beauty away!
The next day I announced on Facebook and Instagram that I was in need of a model ASAP to shoot on location with this lovely chair. I also sent a pic of the chair by itself on those platforms for them to see. I got quite a few responses, and though I was looking for just one model I ended up with 2 amazing ones. The model in this pic is Christa Elizabeth. I was so happy to have accomplished my goal of utilizing this amazing piece of furniture that was apparently discarded and was falling apart gradually as we were shooting but it shined through.
