I went to the end of Sandy Hook National Park, New Jersey, across from Manhattan, to take pictures of birds. Besides the beautiful skyline of New York, this lonely, worn child's shoe grabbed my attention. I had to take a picture of it.

It was a beautiful sunny day on October 1, 2017. I was there for birds, so I had a 300mm Olympus lens (equivalent to a 600mm on a regular 35mm camera) on my mirrorless Olympus E-M1 Mark II. The exposure was 1/320 second, f9 and ISO 200. It was early afternoon.
