I tried uploading this image in a number of different formats but with the same results, the colors are washed out. The orange of the lava should really "pop" more than we're seeing in the uploaded shot.

A bunch of friends went out to the 61g lava flow on the Big Island of Hawaii to be awed by the molten rock entering the ocean. With Hurricane Madeline bearing down on the island, we weren't sure what kind of weather we would find. As it turned out, we had the views almost entirely to ourselves. The Milky Way even made a few appearances through the clouds giving me a beautiful starry backdrop to the epic scenery already in place by Madame Pele. This is a single frame shot with some light painting for the foreground...additional post processing in Photoshop.
