I was shooting on the lower east side in Manhattan late on a hot June afternoon with little success. Then I saw this sign at 25th and 10th on long defunct tavern.

While the photo was initially not all that interesting, with some editing and adding texture in Photoshop, it popped (at least to me).

I used a Sony A850 DSLR at f4.5, 1/4000 with a 24-70 Sony Zeiss lens at 70 mm.
