About 2 1/2 years ago on Venice Beach here in southwest Florida there was a beach restoration project underway. The sand was brought in from 10 miles offshore and placed onto the beach from the south jetty at Venice Inlet and south all the way to the Venice Pier area, roughly 2 miles. There was so much erosion that it created an opportunity to replace the storm water runoff drain pipes.
These pipes are about 4 feet in diameter and when dry and at low tide I entered one and got some great shots back in the winter of 2015. Recently in July 2017, I revisited the pipe again because the sun placement in the sky at this angle only happens a couple times a year for the optimal frame.
I used a lightweight mirrorless for this shot.
