Studio Flash Lighting; There’s A System To Fit Every Need:
I’m traveling by air. You’ll need sturdy lighting cases for starters. Assuming your camera bag goes with you as a carryon, and allowing for one checked bag for clothing, whatever else is allowable goes to lighting gear. Remember, tripods and light stands may need a separate case, and should be factored in. Now, which lights? A small power pack system will probably work best. Or, if you have an established credit line, you might try renting when you get to your location (set this up in advance). If you actually have a client, the rental fees might be passed along to him (if agreeable). By the way, you might also consider a battery-powered power pack system. The key disadvantage to battery-driven systems is that they may limit your use of a modeling light to low wattage or none at all.
