Each Day
At first photography was for fun; now Karen Olson's a lot more serious
about it. While she doesn't intend to make it a career--she has a full-time
seasonal job that gives her time for courses at the college--she plans
to continue her studies and her shooting.
Planning is an important part
of her photography, too, especially for the photos she handcolors. "You
can't say, well, I'll just go out today and see what happens," she says.
"It doesn't work that way, at least not for me. I have to have a plan,
and even then the photo may not work.
"If I get one good picture
a day, that makes it a good day."
