April 22, 2008 — Quantum Turbo SC, C, Z, 2x2 or Turbo Batteries are now compatible either the Metz 58AF Series (Turbo Flash Cable CM58) or Metz 54MZ Series (Turbo Flash Cable CM54).

Turbos put approximately 330 volts into the flashes capacitor/flash tube circuit, bypassing the TTL and LCD low voltage circuits. “AA” batteries still must be used to power these low voltage circuits. All power packs display power remaining and charge level using an LED “fuel gauge”.

Use a Quantum Battery 1+ or Quantum Battery 1 Compact with a power module MKZ3 connected into the flashes battery compartment. Use a Bantam Battery or Quantum Battery 1 Compact with a power module XKZ3. You get consistent recycling and typically 3 times the capacity of “AA” batteries.
